    Hi all!

As you may have noticed, we’re again really slow on getting those podcasts out. That’s in part because besides playing, recording, editing and writing the posts, actually organizing everything is quite a bit of work.

That’s why we would really like to have someone (or multiple someones) who is good at and actually enjoys the planning and pestering people to do work they promised to do parts 😉

Here’s some of what we think you might be doing, but in the end, it should be fun, so if there are things that are not for you or you think you want to help with more, that’s all fine:

    * Help us find participants for the show
    * Arrange finding a time to record
    * Make sure Tijn and rnlf start writing the show notes document and get it to the other people on the show
    * Arrange with the team of editors to get the raw recordings edited
    * Make schedules and find ways to force us to stick to them

Ideally, you’d be willing to join us on IRC, because that’s where we do all our meta discussions at the moment.

This sounds great you think? Where’s the catch? Here’s the catch: We can’t pay you. We’re not even paying ourselves or anyone else who’s helping with the show. It’s a project of passion and we don’t ever want to make money with it (that’s why there are no ads on the show) and all our Ko-fi money goes strictly into paying for the server.

Still interested? Contact Tijn or rnlf or reply to this post.

I’m not sure if I’m the right person for the job or not but I’d be willing to give it a go if you haven’t had any better offers. I had been wondering if I should offer to help out in recent months in order to speed up getting these podcasts out.

I don’t think I’ve any problems with the above list. I never got into IRC so I’ll need to figure that out but I’m sure that wouldn’t be a problem.

    @Pix
If you need help with IRC, just reach out in some way, maybe we could also both help if needed.

I’d just like to say awesome work everyone. Florian and Tijn, you have put in such a stellar effort on this podcast for years, basically for free. It can be disheartening falling behind on schedule, but I’m really glad you’re sticking with it and adding to the team and finding solutions!

I’m really looking forward to the coming months, with pix (and others?) on board. Thanks so much for volunteering!

I’d love to help too, and if there’s anything I can pitch in with I will.
If I can be honest, producing is very much not in my skillset, and I tend to be a pretty slow editor.
But if you need me to do anything like record sound or music samples, or do some extra research – any little odd jobs like that – then I will happily step up.

Thanks for the offer! One odd job that needs doing for every episode is to gather some game sounds, which we put into the intro. You can definitely help by collecting these (either by recording the game, and/or downloading the OST, recording YouTube footage, etc).

If you send them to our email and/or share them in IRC or through Mastodon, this saves us some time when putting the episode together!

OST uploaded to the file server would definitely also save some hassle for the recording, if the game has music we want to play.

Yeah, I can definitely do that.
Send me an email with details of how you want them uploaded and by when. I can get started on MDK right away!
