While listening to the back catalog episode about DOS racing games, it got me thinking and I remembered this “classic.”
The premise of the game is a futuristic game show where the “megarace enforcer” is tasked with eliminating speed gangs in various sci-fi cities. The FMV cutscenes are campy and hilarious in the best possible way, with many quotable lines.
What’s interesting is that the gameplay is also an FMV of the race track, overlaid with sprites for the vehicles. The OPL2 music engine is also very impressive with some fantastic music.
The actual “game” part honestly isn’t great, at least from what I recall, but I haven’t played it since it came out. Even so, I have fond and vivid memories of this game from the style and humor alone, and it could be interesting to revisit.
