Enjoyed the episode on Knights of the Sky, and after listening to it again, wondered if anyone had suggested this game. Quite a landmark for its time, and eventually had a mission builder add on.
I am very interested in having the club explore more aviation games in DOS!
Red Baron was an absolute beast when it came out and I think the gameplay and campaign still hold up well. I’ve never used the mission builder, but it would be worth looking at.
The club seems to be inclined towards covering other genres, but we can definitely lobby to get flight games covered more. I think 1 per year is fair! =D

The club has covered a few, (Knights of the Sky, B17 Flying Fortress), but it would be great if they would do and episode on Red Baron. Still holds up today, and runs well in DOSbox.
Red Baron ia an absolute classic. The dynamic campaign style is awesome, allowing to fly for the Allies or Germany. You progress in your career, eventually might be able to get your own squadron and fighter of choice.
I recommend to use the xbaron patch for this game, made by a guy called Rob Church, back in the 1990’s. The patch introduces a frame limiter and several joystick improvements.
This is one of the great flight sims for DOS, hours and hours of fun!
