Spycraft: The Great Game
-
My suggestion would be for Spycraft, an excellent spy themed adventure game, and arguably the best FMV game ever. An excellent, and realistic, topical (for the time) spy story following CIA agent Thorn, as he tries to unravel the asassination of the Russian presidential candidate, while trying to protect our own president. Great acting, good story, and logical puzzles make this a must for any fan of the spy genre.
Was about to start my own thread for this but saw this one just in time!
This PC Gamer article should do a better job than I can of selling why this game deserves a spot on DGC https://www.pcgamer.com/saturday-crapshoot-spycraft-the-great-game/
I was around 11 or 12 when this came out and the idea that there was a game where you played a proper spy, and that the game had input from actual ex-CIA and KGB honchos, blew my mind.
I would love to hear an episode on this one. I got it in a weird discount PC Game pack when I was 11. It was one of the first FMV games I had played (outside of watching my dad and his friend play a bit of The 7th Guest)
Bruce : “Forget headshots kid. I’ve seen point blank hits penetrate, curve around the skull and come out the other side. When you want the kill, go for the throat”
*Bruce proceeds to get shot right between the eyes and dies in the middle of a training mission*
