Maybe it was easier and shorter, but as a kid I never managed to leave the island… I didn’t beat the game until I was much older.
Still, as you say, quite wonderful in every aspect.
+1 to Metal Mutant! Used to play this with a friend and have really good memories of it.
Although I wonder how well it has aged, I think it’ll be much more friendly than Transarctica to get into. The mechanic of switching between the three robots to grab the most appropriate one for the situation was quite innovative for the time. And it was fun picking up the power-ups/new abilities and seeing when/where to use them. Cool suggestion!
+1 to the suggestion! Great puzzle/platformer!
I’ve played it a few times over the years but not in a while. I don’t remember if the Lost Vikings 2 was also a DOS game or was released for Windows, but it had some new characters with special powers.
Yeah, I’d be all in to delve again into the Dr. Brain games (Castle and/or Island). See how well I can do now that I know a bit more of proper English and I can get through the fit-the-right-word parts without having to guess everything or using up all my tokens…
I have good memories of Crystal Caves and Secret Agent, so it would be nice to know what other people think of them.
I don’t know where I got them from, but I think it was late 90s/early 00s I got a bunch of Apogee games (some full/some demos) and those two really stuck with me. They have a sort of wacky animation style, and I think they’re more fun than the original Keen games. Maybe it’s my nostalgia glasses, but I’d recommend you guys give them a try!
