Heh, imo the cut-and-pasting is a tad overdone. Not only the reuse of identical video but also the only slightly less offensive identical videos with the background switched.

My memory may be faulty (it’s been a few years, after all), but I *think* I remember the cutscene speech volume already annoying me back when I was playing it in the dos days.

Browsing through the manual is very much recommended, even if you know how to rts. Z has some quirks in both gameplay and controls.

For example: units are grouped when “drawing a square” around them, and later clicking on any single unit of the group *selects the whole group*.
