frozograbbinsParticipantI am very interested in having the club explore more aviation games in DOS!
Red Baron was an absolute beast when it came out and I think the gameplay and campaign still hold up well. I’ve never used the mission builder, but it would be worth looking at.
The club seems to be inclined towards covering other genres, but we can definitely lobby to get flight games covered more. I think 1 per year is fair! =D
frozograbbinsParticipantAnd I just checked, in case anyone needed any other excuse, but the game is very affordable on GOG, only about 2 bucks on sale currently 🙂
frozograbbinsParticipantWacky wheels had my vote as well, would be fun if there was any way to set up some sort of ranked tournament play like has been done in previous months.
Also if network play was possible that would be cool. 🙂
frozograbbinsParticipantThank you for the heads up that it’s now available on gog and steam! I’m gonna put it on my holiday wishlist:)
I’ve got a boxed copy and having a go at it on period hardware left me with a desire to explore it further 🙂
frozograbbinsParticipantWings of Glory would be an amazing game to play, one of my childhood favorites. If my memory serves during the Strike Commander show the guest mentioned wanting to come back if the DGC ever played Wings of Glory.
I also really enjoyed USNF, but never got the chance to play ATF. I’m really down for any flight sim at this point 🙂
frozograbbinsParticipantAh that pause exploit does seem like a good way to control how the game progresses!
frozograbbinsParticipantI’ve given this one about an hour so far and i’m really liking it. I will say that when I try to micromanage the caste & behavior system it seems like my colony always die, so i’ve just taken to leaving them set to default values.
frozograbbinsParticipantI think this would be a good one to revisit, you have my vote. 🙂
frozograbbinsParticipanti thought they recently removed these from the store, unless i’m misrembering? either way- thanks for the heads up!
frozograbbinsParticipantThat is the very first boxed game I remember receiving as a kid. I really enjoyed it! I think this (and other microprose flight games) could be maybe a combo episode one month.
frozograbbinsParticipantThis one looks particularly interesting to me. I’m having trouble finding the keyboard controls for this game, do you happen to have them handy? Thanks!
frozograbbinsParticipantI played so much Bass Tour [1992], I would definitely like to see an expose on different fishing games.
frozograbbinsParticipantI really love the idea of pinball games and pinball in general although the gameplay mechanics for each table usually allude me. Looking forward to following this for other suggestions and the eventual podcast! 🙂
